Motorsport Mommunity Mourns Loss of Ron Dixon
The New Zealand motorsport community is mourning the loss of Ron Dixon, proud father of legendary Kiwi IndyCar driver Scott Dixon.
Ron was an avid motorsport enthusiast, a former competitor, dirt track owner and promoter. He was also an original member of the Northland Car Club and maintained varying levels of involvement in the sport over time.
“Dad raced a bit of everything, whether it was rally cars or circuit racing, my earliest memories were at the track in Townsville. Once we moved back to New Zealand, I got my first taste of racing go-karts and Dad supported me in getting there. It was definitely a family atmosphere that we would do every weekend, and still, to this day, they are some of the happiest memories I have.” – Scott Dixon.
Ron was a proud father, right to the very end.
Our thoughts go out to the Dixon family.
