More racing action for Supercars at Pukekohe in 2017 promises Fabian Coulthard
Supercars stay in Pukekohe for 2017
New Zealand Supercars driver Fabian Coulthard is promising that this year's Pukekohe round will be more exciting than in 2016.
Last year there were two 100km races on the Saturday and Sunday, with no pit stops for fuel or tyres.
It resulted in boring processional racing, with no tactics and little overtaking as the cars usually finished in the same order as they qualified.

FOUR PAST WINNERS AMONG CATLINS ENTRIES
Two time winner Andrew Graves of Gore is the top seed for this Saturday’s Catlins Coast Rally which features four former winners – Graves, Deane Buist, Derek Ayson and defending champion, Vaughan Edie.
Graves, winner of the event in 2010 and 2013 in his Mitsubishi EVO 3, was unlucky not to add a third victory last year when as the top seed he encountered the worst of the treacherous conditions in the icy stages. However he charged back into second place, 33.9 seconds behind the winner, Vaughan Edie of Invercargill by the end of the day.

MY THOUGHTS FROM FUJI
As much as the racer in me yearned to ‘send it’ on our return to Fuji for the second time this SUPER GT season, we took a more measured approach this time around after a few mediocre results in the Gulf Racing Porsche.
This is more a case of mentality than anything, though the lessons learned at previous races in vehicle setup, race strategy and tyre management all factored into our fifth place finish and a handy points haul ahead of the big one; the last ever Suzuka 1000km (this race reverts to a 300km format next year).

Rally New Zealand unlikely to return to 2018 World Rally Championship
Rally New Zealand organisers today said that it is unlikely that the event will return to the World Rally Championship (WRC) calendar next year.
Latest discussions with the FIA and the World Rally Championship Promoter (WRC Promoter) suggest that expanding the 2018 Championship for a new event outside Europe will prove too challenging because of commercial considerations.
The final outcome will be known next month at which time Rally New Zealand will reassess their plans for the future.
