V8 Sleuth partners with Taupō Historic GP
New Zealand’s prestigious Taupō Historic GP has entered into an exciting new arrangement with the award-winning V8 Sleuth motorsport platform. V8 Sleuth has become the official media partner for the event that will be held on January 19-21 in 2024 at the Taupō International Motorsport Park and broadcast live on Sky Sport in New Zealand and Fox Sports in Australia.
Bathurst 1000 winners Greg Murphy, Craig Lowndes and Steve Richards will all be in attendance, as well as Jack Perkins and some very special cars sourced from Australia with more details to be released on those soon. The Taupō Historic GP is the second round of the Super Sprint MotorSport NZ Championship and will host the opening round of the Castrol Toyota Formula Regional Oceania Championship (CTFROC) as part of a unique modern/historic flavoured race meeting.
The event is also a unique celebration of Trans-Tasman Holden history and will feature a ‘Holden All-Comers’ race open to all Holden race cars with a homologated roll cage and logbook.
Also set to appear are Historic Touring Cars NZ, Historic Sports Sedans, Historic Saloons, Sports and GTs, Formula 5000, Formula Open NZ and Formula Junior/F3/Historic Formula Ford.
The 2024 event will be the seventh Taupō Historic GP held at the Taupō International Motorsport Park and will include promotional $10,000 prize event with drivers and fans, held lakeside of the Taupō township.
Sunday also features a drivers parade lap before a visit by the RNZAF Black Falcons aerobatic display team.
The circuit is the new home of the Repco Supercars Championship in New Zealand with the Supercars set to visit for the first time on April 19-21, 2024.
