Two scholarships to be awarded prior to 2024 Otago Rally
The Otago Rally is offering two young driver scholarships in 2024, thanks to the support of new naming rights sponsor Central Machine Hire.
Valued at in excess of $2500 each, the scholarships are to encourage young drivers to the Otago Rally who might otherwise struggle to fund their entry into the event.
The scholarships have been made possible through the support of Central Machine Hire owner Allan Dippie.
“We have always got a really strong ‘feel-good’ factor from being able to offer a scholarship,” Otago Rally spokesman, Roger Oakley, said.
“When Central Machine Hire came on board they immediately offered to provide assistance to enable two scholarships a year.
“The owner, Allan Dippie, is a long time competitor and supporter of rallying and shares our enthusiasm to see the sport thrive.”
Young New Zealand competitors are encouraged to put in an application for one of the scholarships. Some preference will be given for one winner to be from the Otago region.
