Second-place for NZ in 2024 Tri-Nations Esport Cup

Team MotorSport New Zealand powered by Giltrap Group Motorsport, proudly finished runners-up in the highly competitive 2024 Tri-Nations Esport Cup, held on Sunday night NZ time. Despite not securing podium finishes, the team’s consistency and strategic approach led to a commendable second-place overall in the prestigious event, just 13-points shy of the win.

The Tri-Nations Esport Cup saw fierce competition among top esports drivers from New Zealand, eventual winners – Australia, and the third-placed United Kingdom. Contested over two 30-minute races, one at Mount Panorama and the other at Silverstone, in the Porsche 911 GT3 R, Team MotorSport New Zealand showcased resilience and consistency throughout the event. Each driver’s results proving crucial in securing enough points to grab second late in the final race.

Stefan McCartain emerged as the highest placed New Zealand driver for the event, demonstrating consistency with a seventh-place finish in the first race and a sixth-place finish in the second race. His outstanding performance earned him a Next Level Racing HF8 Haptic Feedback Pad, along with a prize pack from Giltrap Group Motorsport.

The 2024 Tri-Nations Esport Cup has once again highlighted the growing popularity and competitive nature of esports within the motorsport community.
