RALLY
A rally event consists of multiple high-speed special stages run over closed public or private roads. These roads may be sealed (tarmac) or unsealed (gravel). In each stage, a driver and co-driver complete a timed run, with the goal of covering the distance as quickly as possible.
Rallies range in level from Clubmans events through to the New Zealand Rally Championship, and New Zealand regularly hosts rounds of the Asia Pacific Rally Championship.
MotorSport New Zealand administers an annual National Rally Championship and along with numerous national rallies throughout the country. These National Championships represent the highest level of rally competition in New Zealand.
