New Safety Structure labels introduced
MotorSport New Zealand has updated the Safety Structure label on all new approved Safety Structure applications. The new label, pictured above, is printed on a vinyl sticker, increasing its durability, as well as holding additional information.
Displayed at the top, under the MotorSport New Zealand logo is the vehicle’s Safety Structure Homologation number. This will now clearly display the type of Safety Structure such as NZ for Standard, NZR for Recognition, NZTA for Type approval, or TC for Schedule AA.
The QR code is a new addition which will allow Scrutineers and Technical Officers the ability to quickly scan the vehicle on the MotorSport New Zealand app. This will make finding vehicles in the app much faster.
Another new addition is the vehicle’s Logbook number. This is displayed under the QR code.
Please note: all existing Safety Structure labels remain valid.
Schedule A, Part One, Article 4.6 (3) (d) requires that the Safety Structure Homologation serial number must be on the Safety Structure as part of the Homologation. If you can’t find the number or the existing label is damaged so you can’t read the number, competitors can contact technical@motorsport.org.nz to arrange a replacement label.
