Manson and Cremer/Liefting share round wins in GT New Zealand
Luke Manson has taken the round win in the Open Class of the Golden Homes GT NZ Championship, while the McLaren duo of David Cremer and Jason Liefting have taken the round win in the GT4 class.
In Open Class, the weekend round podium was rounded out by the Ferrari of Wayne Leach in second with the Porsche of Paul Pedersen in third.
GT4 saw Nigel Cromie in a McLaren finish third overall, with Grant Aitken in a Porsche Caayman finish third.
Earlier in the day, Mason claimed the one-hour feature race win, his first for the season. While Leach picked up another podium finishing second, with Pedersen third in a Porsche.
The Cremer/Liefting McLaren picked up another win in GT4, with Stephen Harrison grabbing another second placing in his Aston Martin, Nigel Cromie third in his McLaren.
With plenty of action throughout the race, the Porsche Cayman of John Buchanan making contact with the tyre barrier, the car sustaining enough damage to be out for the remainder of the weekend.
There was a wild moment between Jono Lester and Rob Steele through turn one. The Porsche of Steele making contact with Lester, the hit hard enough to puncture the front left tyre of Steele and forcing him out of the race.
There was also last lap contact between the Ginetta of Allan Sargeant and the Porsche of Rick Armstrong, both cars sustaining minor damage.
Race three of the weekend, a 30-minute encounter was largely drama free, with the Lamborghini of Rollinson taking the fight to the Porsche of Lester and coming out on top with a healthy 48-second lead by the time the chequered flag fell.
Rounding out the open class podium was Regan Scoullar in a Porsche, the youngster making his debut in the Championship this weekend.
GT4 saw Jono McFarlane take the class win, with Jason Liefting coming home in second, with Cromie third.
The next round of the Golden Homes GT NZ Championship will be held at Taupo on March 17-19.
