Livery revealed for Team MotorSport New Zealand Powered by Giltrap Group Motorsport

The striking new livery for Team MotorSport New Zealand Powered by Giltrap Group Motorsport has been unveiled ahead of the 2024 Tri-Nations Esport Cup.

Longtime supporters of New Zealand motorsport, the Giltrap Group, have reaffirmed their commitment by backing the nation’s entry into this innovative event through their Giltrap Group Motorsport division. The ten fastest qualifiers from New Zealand will compete under the Team MotorSport New Zealand Powered by Giltrap Group Motorsport banner in this second iteration of the multi-national competition.

The identical Porsche 911 GT3 R cars will proudly display New Zealand’s traditional sporting colours, black and white. Each car will feature the iconic silver fern on its sides, alongside branding from Giltrap Group Motorsport and MotorSport New Zealand.

For decades, the Giltrap Group has been a cornerstone of support for New Zealand motorsport. Their logo is a familiar sight on the helmets, suits, and cars of many of the country’s top international drivers.

Recognising the growing significance of esports in cultivating the next generation of motorsport talent, Giltrap Group Motorsport is enthusiastic about this new venture. Their commitment to nurturing young talent is evident in their junior scholarship program, launched in 2023. Scholarship recipient Brock Gilchrist notably secured the GT New Zealand GT4 Championship in a Giltrap Group Motorsport-prepared McLaren 570 GT4.

“We’re delighted to partner with MotorSport New Zealand on this great initiative” says Hamish Miller, Head of Giltrap Motorsport.

“Esports is hugely popular and growing rapidly around the world. This event aligns with our broader motorsport strategy and with all 30 cars on the grid being Porsche 911 GT3 R’s, this was an easy decision. We’re looking forward to seeing the black and white cars with the silver fern dominate.”

New Zealand esports competitors will have one final opportunity to qualify for Team MotorSport New Zealand Powered by Giltrap Group Motorsport this weekend. Pre-qualifying will take place from 11:00pm on Saturday, 20 July, through to 11:00pm on Sunday, 21 July.

The ten fastest competitors from the pre-qualifying sessions will face off against the top ten from both Australia and the UK on 4 August in a double-header race event for the Tri-Nations Esport Cup. The event will be broadcast live.
