Last chance for Elite MotorSport Academy applications

Applications for the 2023 edition of the Elite MotorSport Academy of New Zealand close in just a few days on 10 March.

Organisers are putting out a final call for applications from aspiring motorsport competitors from Race, Rally, ClubSport and KartSport disciplines across New Zealand.

The world-renowned academy, designed to benefit Rally co-drivers as much as Formula Ford racers, has played a vital part in training over 140 graduates during its history including many of our international stars. Three-time World Champion, Brendon Hartley, reigning back-to-back Supercars champ, Shane van Gisbergen, world rally star, Hayden Paddon and recent IndyCar graduate, Marcus Armstrong are just some of the competitors to benefit from the Elite MotorSport Academy of New Zealand.

The academy program sees multiple participants take part in a week-long camp at the Otago Academy of Sport. At the camp, they are given intensive courses in fitness, nutrition, media, sponsorship, and mental performance. Each participant then receives a personalised 12-month program where they continue to work with providers of the academy to further their development.

MotorSport New Zealand’s President and trustee of the academy’s Scholarship Trust, Wayne Christie, is keen to see as much of New Zealand’s talent pool put their names forward for this amazing opportunity.

“New Zealand punches well above its weight when it comes to producing top-level motorsport competitors,” said Christie.

“The Elite MotorSport Academy plays a massive part in developing our most promising competitors and giving them the tools to become professional athletes.

“All of us trustees really encourage all those competitors out there with dreams of racing in the upper echelons of the sport to get your application in for this career-changing opportunity.”

The 2023 edition of the academy camp will take place in Dunedin from 2-8 July 2023. More information and the application form can be found at by clicking here. Applications will close on 10 March 2023.
