FIA Volunteer Awards nominations close tomorrow
This year, the FIA Volunteers & Officials Commission has announced the introduction of a new trophy for Lifetime Achievement, which will pay tribute to an exceptionally long and dedicated career as an official in motorsport.
This is an addition to the list of trophies awarded to the best motorsport officials and volunteers of the year internationally, which has been in place for 10 years now.
The “Outstanding Official of the Year” pays tribute to an Official who has carried out an exceptional or brave action, or has been responsible for a singular performance, in any kind of motor sport competition, whether national or international.
The other FIA prizes will be awarded to a team and individual candidates who will be assessed on the basis of their leadership competence, their performance and their personal integrity. Any difficulties they have overcome when performing their duties/mission will also be taken into account, as will the collective dynamic, where teams are concerned.
MotorSport New Zealand is seeking submissions for nominations of volunteer officials from New Zealand who are deserving of recognition. You can nominate a volunteer official using this online form prior to 12 October 2021.
Submissions will be reviewed by a panel from MotorSport New Zealand and accepted nominations will then be submitted by MotorSport New Zealand to the FIA.
The winners will be announced during the FIA Volunteers/Officials weekend, which will take place on 20-21 November.
