Leo Scott joins Track Tec Racing for NZ Formula Ford Festival

Leo Scott is making the step to a Class 1 Formula Ford for the upcoming NZ Formula Ford Festival to be held at Mike Pero Motorsport Park, Ruapuna on 30 April-1 May.

The 17-year-old driver from Whangarei has cut his teeth in single seaters with two seasons in the NZ Formula First and currently sits fourth with one round remaining at Taupo this weekend after coming in fifth in his rookie season last year. Before that Leo Scott started in karts at the age of 7

Leo will be hard to miss on track in the brand new Ray GR20 imported from the UK in Track Tec Racing orange. He has previously competed in 2 rounds of the NZ Formula Ford Series in an older car and is looking forward to getting out amongst it in a newer chassis.

The NZ Formula Ford Festival is expected to attract 50 entries and the winner gets a prize to race in a Formula Ford in the UK

Leo Scott Quote
“Looking forward to the NZ Formula Ford festival as there will be lots of cars and the biggest field I have raced in. Excited to race on Ruapuna because after practicing there it is my favorite track, quite technical and challenging. Working with Track Tec Racing has been awesome, the car was well set up, they are very organised and a great team to be around. Goals for the festival is to get a podium finish and be in the top 10 each race. Long term motorsport goals are to get podiums and wins in the formula ford and race the Castrol Toyota Racing Series FT60.”

Matt Waters, Team Manager Quote
“We’ve come to know Leo quite well this season whilst doing the NZ Formula First Series with upcoming driver, Louis Sharp, and are excited to be partnering with him for the NZ Formula Ford Festival. Giving young talented drivers opportunities to stretch themselves and develop their motorsport career absolutely aligns with our goals at Track Tec Racing”
