Formula Ford test added to Esport Lockdown Challenge prize pool
The winner of tonights Esport Lockdown Challenge Formula Vee Festival will now receive a test in the North Island Formula Ford ‘Have a Go’ car.
Announced late Wednesday evening, the Esport Lockdown Challenge is a series of three iRacing events taking place to cure the boredom of lockdown. The first event, taking place on Friday night, will be the Formula First Festival held at Watkins Glen. Saturday will see a change in scenery with e-racers lining up in the GT4 Cup at Oran Park where a test in a Toyota 86 is up for grabs. The final event of the challenge is the 2KCUP 6 Hour Sunday Enduro at Bathurst where the victors will win a race car eligible for the 2KCUP Shield in real life.
Thanks to the North Island Formula Ford series, there is even more on the line for the Formula Vee Festival. The winner of tonight’s final will receive a test in the Formula Ford ‘Have a Go’ car!*
Formula Ford racing has been a cornerstone of junior driver development in New Zealand and globally for the past 50 years. The NZ Formula Ford Championship has seen some of New Zealand’s biggest names in motorsport hone their craft in their early years. The always close and competitive racing matches what will surely be an intense evening of sim racing where the recipient will be found.
All three events will be broadcast live on MotorSport New Zealand’s Facebook, Youtube and Twitch accounts with renowned commentator Craig ‘Sooty’ Lord calling the action.
