Cremer Returns to GT4 in McLaren 570S

David Cremer will line up on the grid of the Golden Homes GT New Zealand Championship, aboard his McLaren 570S GT4 when racing gets underway at Highlands Motorsport Park in January.

Cremer finished fifth in last season’s GT4 series, and despite being a rookie, picked up a couple of podiums along the way.

“It was a good first season last year, was pretty stoked to get a couple of podiums along the way as well,” said Cremer.

During the winter break, Cremer partnered with his race engineer Jason Liefting to compete in the North and South Island Endurance Series races. Winning the 3 Hour Class three title and finishing fourth overall in the Northern series.

“Working with Jason has been really great, and has helped my driving, the extra driving during the winter should certainly help once the GT NZ Championship gets going.”

“Having got those couple of podiums last season, the aim is to try and be consistently quick and add a few more to the tally this time.”

Cremer’s McLaren will again be run out of the Prime Speed Sport organisation alongside two other McLaren GT4 cars of Rudy Van Het Wout and David Cranna.

The 2023 GT New Zealand Championship will consist of a four-round series over three months commencing January 13-15 at Highlands Motorsport Park in Cromwell.

This will be followed by the second round with the New Zealand Grand Prix at Hampton Downs on February 3-5, before heading to Taupo on March 17-19. The final round will be at Manfeild on April 14-16.
