COVID-19 Alert Level Changes 31 August

The New Zealand government has announced changes to the current COVID-19 Alert Levels. The upcoming changes to the Alert Levels are listed below:

  1. Auckland: Alert Level 4 will be extended until at least 14 September
  2. Northland: Will move to Alert Level 3 at 11:59pm on Thursday, 2 September (if wastewater tests are negative)
  3. Rest of NZ: Will move to Alert Level 3 at 11:59pm Tuesday, 31 August for 7 days

No motorsport events are able to take place under Alert Levels 3 and 4.

What’s Next?

Motorsport events can resume at Alert Level 2 under MotorSport New Zealand’s ‘Back in Motion’ guidelines. These guidelines enable motorsport to safely take place during Alert Level 2 and meet all restrictions outlined by the government.

MotorSport New Zealand urges clubs with events taking place in the next 60-days to familiarise themselves with the Back in Motion guidelines and ensure they put plans in place for their events to met these guidelines should it take place under Alert Level 2.

As always, the MotorSport New Zealand team are happy to help out if you have any questions regarding COVID-19 guidelines or procedures or for anything else you need assistance with.

We also remind everyone to visit www.motorsport.org.nz/covid-19 for the latest information regarding COVID-19 and motorsport.

The New Zealand government will review Alert Levels for areas outside of Auckland on Monday, 6 September. MotorSport New Zealand will issue a relevant update at this time.
