Arcadia Road Rallysprint competitors named

Following reports online and in the media, MotorSport New Zealand is saddened to confirm that the two competitors who died at the Arcadia Road Rallysprint on Sunday were driver Brooklyn Horan, 15, and co-driver Tyson Jemmett, 35.

Both Brooklyn and Tyson were well-respected and much-loved members of the sport. Both have competed in all disciplines of the sport over a number of years to a high level of success.

MotorSport New Zealand wishes to express our sincere condolences to the families and friends of Brooklyn and Tyson as well as those involved in the event.

These tragic events will have a lasting impact on the entire motorsport community. MotorSport New Zealand will continue to provide support to all those immediately involved in the Arcadia Road Rallysprint including competitors and their crews, volunteers, officials, and first responders.

MotorSport New Zealand will now undertake a full and thorough investigation into the incident at the Arcadia Road Rallysprint. This will involve working with the event organisers, and their volunteer officials. MotorSport New Zealand will also work with all investigating agencies such as NZ Police and WorkSafe.
