2025 NZ Hillclimb Championship set for November in Port Waikato

MotorSport New Zealand has confirmed that the 2025 New Zealand Goldstar Hillclimb Championship will be hosted by the Pukekohe Car Club on 22-23 November 2025, with entries now officially open.

Competitors will take on two challenging stages across the weekend. The opening day will be held on a 5.9km of sealed tarmac on Port Waikato Waikaretu Road, Port Waikato. The Sunday’s final day switches to gravel with 4.4km of Waikaretu Road in Port Waikato being utilised.

The combined points across both days will determine the New Zealand Gold Star Hillclimb Champion, as well as the NZ Cross Car, 2WD, and 4WD champions.

The 2025 Championship promises fast-paced competition, technical challenges, and the chance for new champions to be crowned in one of New Zealand’s most exciting grassroots motorsport titles.

“Hillclimbs have always been a popular and true test of a driver’s skill,” said MotorSport New Zealand President, Deborah Day.

“The Pukekohe Car Club has put together a fantastic weekend on two very different road surfaces that will challenge competitors in every way.

“We encourage drivers from across the country to take up the opportunity, whether you’re a seasoned competitor or taking part in your first championship event, this is your chance to measure yourself against New Zealand’s best.”

Entries are now open through MotorSport Online, with full event and championship details available at motorsport.org.nz/championships/hillclimb/.
