New Zealand Supercars round cancelled for 2020

The New Zealand round of the Virgin Australia Supercars Championship will not take place in 2020. Supercars confirmed today that they will not hold a New Zealand round despite signalling their intentions to do so in a draft calendar released in May.

Due to the COVID-19 situation and particular uncertainty around border controls between the two countries, Supercars made the decision not to contest the New Zealand event.

MotorSport New Zealand fully understands Supercars’ decision and will continue to work with Supercars to provide support to help secure the event’s future for 2021 and beyond.
