Leitch looks to consolidate lead in Lamborghini Super Trofeo Championship at Nürburgring

Brendon Leitch heads to the third round of the 2023 Lamborghini Super Trofeo Europe Championship looking to consolidate his lead in the Pro Cup standings. The Nürburgring host two 50-minute races for the 48 entered Lamborghini Super Trofeo EVO 2 cars.

“I’m certainly looking forward to it,” commented Letich. “Not sure what to expect at this stage. It will be interesting to see how we go.”

Leitch put in a top performance at the last round at the Circuit Spa-Francorchamps in Belgium. Starting from eighth position in the first race, Leitch crossed the finish line in P2 overall. In the second race he started from second on the grid however, due to heavy rain the race was terminated early behind the Safety Car giving him a P2 classification overall. These two top results have secured him the lead in the Pro standings after just two rounds.

“There are some good passing opportunities at the Nürburgring with long straights and slow speed corners,” said Leitch. “Our Dayle ITM backed #86 Lamborghini Huracán Super Trofeo EVO2 is really good on brakes so the key to this circuit is to make the corners as short as possible. It’s less about carrying corner speed and more about late braking, short rotation and quick onto the throttle.”

“We have some really great race pace and are super strong. Just need to get improve our qualifying. I expect conditions to be pretty warm and there’s always a chance it will be wet.”

Drivers and teams face two practice sessions followed by two qualifying periods before two 50-minute races.

The next round of the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Europe takes place 16-17 September 2023 at Circuit Ricardo Tormo, Cheste, Spain
