Brendon Leitch joins Earl Bamber Motorsport for Indianapolis 8 Hour

Earl Bamber Motorsport has confirmed Brendon Leitch will join the team for this year’s Indianapolis 8 Hour Presented by AWS on October 5.

The Indianapolis 8 Hour marks the final round of Fanatec GT World Challenge America Powered by AWS as well as the Intercontinental GT Challenge Powered by Pirelli final.

Just two weeks after making his IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship debut at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, Leitch return to the famed circuit to jump behind the wheel of a Porsche 911 GT3 R 992 again.

The New Zealander will enter the hotly-contested Pro-Am class with factory Porsche driver Bastian Buus (Denmark) and Adrian D’Silva (Malaysia).

This year’s grid is made up of 25 entries with five Pro cars, four IGTC Pro cars, and 16 Pro-Am cars across six manufacturers.

Leitch’s selection marks a return to the Earl Bamber Motorsport camp after a short-lived CrowdStrike 24 Hours of Spa.

“I’m stoked that Earl has invited me back to the team for Indianapolis. It was really disappointing not to feature at Spa and I know between myself and Adrian we’ve definitely got some unfinished business,” said Leitch.

“For me personally, there is no reason why I shouldn’t be at the top of my game having only just raced at Indy in IMSA. I know I had a lot left in me. It will be good to go back after just a couple of weeks. It’ll be like I never left!

“Porsche currently leads the IGTC manufacturers’ championship so we want to do them proud and give them the best chance possible of winning that for the first time since 2020. I’m looking forward to racing with Bastian too given his pedigree as a Porsche factory driver.”

The Indianapolis 8 Hour race begins on Saturday (local time) at 12:15pm and concludes at 8:15pm in the dark.

Leitch will have practice in the days leading up to the event and qualifying on Friday (local time).
