Mike Macready – Technical Advisor

Mike is another MotorSport New Zealand team member who has lived and breathed motorsport for the majority of their life. Mike completed two automotive apprenticeships and advanced trade certificates at the beginning of his career, one in light vehicles and one in heavy transport.

Off the back of this, Mike became a licenced scrutineer in 1982 and began racing Ford Cortinas the following year. From there Mike began building sports cars from scratch which led to him getting involved with the Low Volume Vehicle Transports Association (LVVTA).

This experience saw Mike become an LVVTA Certifier in 1993, a role responsible for ensuring home-builds, hotrods and competition cars meet the safety requirements to drive on New Zealand Roads

Mike then joined us in 2011 as a Technical Advisor. His role is responsible for processing all of your technical applications such as logbooks, authority cards, roll cage homologations and CODs as well as guiding you through your general technical enquiries. This role is critical to ensuring the safety of our competitors.
